On May 20, 2020, the government of Quebec informed the public about the decision to keep the Quebec Immigrant Investor Program (QIIP) closed until March 31, 2021. It was planned to reopen the window for accepting applications on July 1, 2020. In the last few years, QIIP accepted most of the Canadian business immigrants.
In 2019, Canada granted PR to 3,215 investors via the QIIP. Quebec has limited the maximum number of applications for candidates from China, Hong Kong, and Macau to 1,235, while the total number of 2019 applications was 1,900.
To be eligible to apply for PR through the QIIP, investors must have net worth $2 million, to invest $1.2 million in the venture in Quebec.
