  • The Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP) is an immigration program that operates under the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) of Canada. The PEI PNP has its own selection process and criteria for the induction of newcomers into the province of Prince Edward Island.

    There are three major streams through which candidates can migrate to Prince Edward Island under the PEI PNP:

    1. PEI PNP Express Entry: This stream is aligned with the federal Express Entry system, which manages the applications for three economic immigration programs: the Federal Skilled Worker Program, the Federal Skilled Trades Program, and the Canadian Experience Class. Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria for one of these programs and express their interest in Prince Edward Island may be nominated by the province through the PEI PNP Express Entry stream.

    2. Skilled Worker outside Canada : This sub-category is for individuals with a job offer in a skilled occupation that is in high demand in Prince Edward Island. The candidate must meet the required work experience, education, and other criteria.

    3. Critical Worker: This sub-category is for individuals with a job offer  which is  full-time, non-seasonal (i.e. permanent or minimum of two years) job offer from a PEI employer in an intermediate skilled position , defined by the Training, Education, Experience, and Responsibility classification system as TEER category 4 or 5(link is external. The candidate must have already worked in the province for at least six months and meet other specific criteria. 

    4.  The Occupations in Demand stream  – It is an employer-driven program allowing Island employers to fill specific positions that they are unable to fill through the local job market. This stream may be utilized for talent recruitment inside and outside of Canada.You need to have  one year, full-time work experience directly related to the job offered by a PEI employer in specific NOC’s
     

    5. International Experience stream – You can apply for a nomination for permanent residency through the Intermediate Experience stream (formerly known as NOC C Initiative) of the Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP).The PEI Intermediate Experience stream is employer-driven, allowing Island employers to fill intermediate-skilled positions that they are unable to fill through the local job market.
