The program allows Alberta to select and nominate eligible candidates for permanent residency in the province. The AINP has several streams that target different categories of individuals, including skilled workers, international graduates, semi-skilled workers, and entrepreneurs.

    The AINP streams include:

Alberta Opportunity Stream: This stream is for foreign workers who have a job offer from an Alberta employer in an eligible occupation. It also caters to individuals who are already working in Alberta on a valid work permit.

Alberta Express Entry Stream: This stream is aligned with the federal Express Entry system. Candidates with an active Express Entry profile and work experience in an eligible occupation may be nominated by Alberta.

The Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) Accelerated Tech Pathway provides expedited processing to foreign workers who are currently working for, or have a job offer with, an Alberta-based tech industry employer in an eligible tech occupation.

Each stream has its own specific criteria and requirements. Applicants must meet the eligibility criteria of the stream they are applying to and go through the nomination process to be considered for permanent residency in Alberta.

It’s important to note that the specific requirements and program names may change over time, so it is always advisable to refer to the official website of the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program for the most up-to-date information.

    Eligibility Criteria:

To be eligible for the Alberta Express Entry Stream of the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP), you must meet the following key requirements:

Active Express Entry Profile: You must have an active profile in the federal Express Entry pool. This means you have created an Express Entry profile and entered the pool of candidates who are seeking permanent residency in Canada.

Eligibility for Federal Immigration Programs: You must meet the parameters of at least one of the federal immigration programs under Express Entry. These programs include the Federal Skilled Worker Program, Federal Skilled Trades Program, or Canadian Experience Class.

Intent to Live and Work in Alberta: You must demonstrate a genuine intention and ability to live and work in Alberta. This requires a commitment to settle in the province and contribute to its economic development.

Occupation in Support of Alberta’s Economic Development: You must be working in an occupation that supports Alberta’s economic development and diversification. The AINP will assess whether your occupation aligns with the province’s labor market needs and priorities.

Minimum CRS Score: You must have a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 300. The CRS score is a point-based system used to rank Express Entry candidates based on factors such as age, education, work experience, language proficiency, and other criteria.

Meeting these requirements does not guarantee nomination by the AINP. The program will assess your eligibility based on various factors, including the demand for your occupation in Alberta and the information provided in your application.

It’s important to note that the specific requirements and eligibility criteria may change over time. Therefore, it is recommended to consult the official website of the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program for the most up-to-date and accurate information.
