The Province of Edward Island invited 104 immigration candidates for provincial nomination under its Express Entry, Labour Impact, and Business Impact categories. The draw was conducted on May 16, 2019. Out of 104 invitations issued, a total of 90 invitations were given to the applicants who have already registered an Expression of Interest with the PEI PNP in its Express Entry category or the various streams of its Labour Impact of Category.
Express Entry applicant must register a separate Expression of Interest with the PEI PNP in order to be considered for a nomination from the province. Applicants have issued a score out of 100 based on factors such as education, skilled work experience, language proficiency, and adaptability factors.
The successful applicants who receive a PEI PNP nomination get an additional 600 points towards their overall Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score which effectively guarantees an invitation to apply for Canadian Permanent Residence in a subsequent Express Entry Draw.
However, in this current draw, the Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program did not specify how many of the 90 invitations issued through the Labour Impact Category went to Express Entry applicants neither did it provide the minimum the score required to receive an invitation in May 16 draw.
The Labour Impact Category of PEI PNP consists of three streams namely Skilled Worker, Critical Worker, and International Graduate. The applicants nominated through three labour impact streams have their applications for Canadian Permanent Residence processed outside the Express Entry System.
PEI Issues EOI under Business Impact Invitations:
The current PEI PNP draw also issued 14 invitations under Business Impact: Work Permit Stream to the applicants having the lowest score was 107. This tied the previous draw held April 18 for the lowest cut-off score so far in 2019.
PEI Business Impact: Work Permit Stream is for individuals interested in owning and operating a business in the province. The candidates who are invited to apply to the PEI PNP and whose application is approved obtain a temporary work permit to establish their business.
The next Expression of Interest Draw is scheduled for June 20, 2019
