One of the key streams of OINP is the Express Entry – Human Capital Priorities (HCP) Stream. This stream targets candidates who are already in the Express Entry pool managed by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). The HCP Stream aims to nominate candidates who possess the skills, experience, and qualifications that align with the labor market needs of Ontario.
Ontario conducts periodic draws based on Expression of Interest (EOI), where it issues Notifications of Interest (NOIs) to a significant number of candidates each year. These NOIs invite candidates to apply for provincial nomination through the OINP. Many of these draws are targeted occupation draws, meaning they focus on inviting candidates with work experience in specific occupations. Additionally, Ontario also holds draws specifically for candidates with tech occupations, recognizing the importance of the technology sector.
Apart from the Express Entry – HCP Stream, the OINP also invites candidates under the French-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream, which targets French-speaking individuals with skilled work experience and language proficiency in English and French. The third key stream is the Express Entry – Skilled Trades Stream, which aims to attract skilled tradespeople who have a valid job offer from an Ontario employer.
Overall, the OINP is an effective program that facilitates the immigration of quality immigrants to Ontario, contributing to the province’s labor market and economic growth.
