Marco Mendicino named new Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship

CAPIC welcomes the new Minister and looks forward to working with him. Mendicino is the MP for the riding of Eglinton—Lawrence. He was first elected in 2015 and re-elected earlier this year.
Marco is the Member of Parliament for Eglinton-Lawrence (Toronto) and Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Justice & Attorney General of Canada. Prior to that he was a Federal Crown prosecutor for more than 10 years, after which he worked at the Law Society of Upper Canada and in private practice. Marco was also President of the Association of Justice Counsel for two terms — a national professional association representing the working interests of nearly 3,000 federal prosecutors and Crown counsel employed by the Government of Canada. Marco served as an adjunct professor at Osgoode Hall Law School and remains very active within his community.
