Step 1: Create & complete an online Express Entry profile
Candidates submit a profile making an expression of their interest to immigrate and live permanently in Canada.
The profile will contain information about the applicants’ skills, work experience, education, language proficiency, and other personal information. Those who meet the criteria of one of the programs listed above will be ranked according to the Comprehensive Ranking System. Candidates who do not already have job offers or provincial nomination will be required to register with Canada’s national Job Bank. The information provided in the profile must be accurate, as providing false or incorrect information could disqualify an applicant from re-entering the Express Entry pool for a number of years.
Step 2: Invitation to Apply for Canadian permanent residence (ITA)
Citizenship & Immigration Canada, as well as employers across Canada will have access to the candidates within the Express Entry pool. Candidates who rank the highest and those with job offers or provincial nomination will be invited to apply for permanent residence. Candidates who receive an invitation letter to apply will then be required to submit their documentation within 60 days. On completion of the processing period, successful candidates and their spouses and/or dependent children will land in Canada as permanent residents.
Candidates who do not receive an invitation to apply within 12 months will be able to resubmit their profile and re-enter the pool if they still meet the criteria.
