Saskatchewan invited 43 entrepreneurs in the fifth invitation round of the Entrepreneur Program for 2022
On September 1, 2022, the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) conducted the fifth invitation round in the Entrepreneur Program in 2022. In this round, SINP invited 43 candidates. The highest Expression of Interest (EOI) score for this round was 130 points. The average score was 95 points. The lowest score was 75, and those applicants were invited to apply only if they scored a CLB level of 4 or higher in English or French. In 2022, Saskatchewan has already invited 270 entrepreneurs.

Alberta updated the AAIP inventory
On September 2, 2022, Alberta published the update of the inventory of the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP). According to the new update, there were around 1,160 Alberta Opportunity Stream applications and 300 Expressions of Interest in the Alberta Express Entry pool. Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) provided 6,250 nomination certificates to Alberta in 2021 for nominations under the AAIP, and the provincial government issued all 6,250 certificates last year. For 2022, IRCC provided 6,500 nominations for the AAIP. In 2022, Alberta has nominated 4,497 applicants and invited 2,320 candidates.

Canada welcomed more than 300,000 permanent residents in 2022
As of August 22, 2022, Canada welcomed more than 300,000 permanent residents, surpassing the record earlier than in any previous year. Over 217,000 new Canadians were granted Canadian citizenship in 2021–2022, which is more than the country’s targets. So far, this fiscal year (from April 1 to July 31), Canada has welcomed over 116,000 new citizens, compared to 35,000 during the same period last year. On April 1, 2020, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) started offering virtual citizenship ceremonies and by July 31, 2022, close to 394,000 people had taken the Oath of Citizenship in nearly 15,000 events using a digital platform.

Canada invited 1,121 candidates under the International Experience Canada
Over the last week, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) held new draws in the pools of International Experience Canada (IEC). From August 29 to September 4, Canada invited 1,121 young foreigners to apply for an IEC open work permit. As of September 2, there are 23,282 candidates registered in the pool, waiting for the invitation. In this round, there were 169 ITAs for Australia, 8 ITAs for Austria, 23 ITAs for Belgium, 1 ITA for Chile, 9 ITAs for Croatia, 20 ITAs for the Czech Republic, 7 ITAs for Denmark, 141 ITAs for France, 84 ITAs for Germany, 3 ITAs for Greece, 11 ITAs for Hong Kong, 93 ITAs for Ireland, 52 ITAs for Italy, 110 ITAs for Japan, 7 ITAs for Lithuania, 15 ITAs for the Netherlands, 47 ITAs for New Zealand, 10 ITAs for Poland, 12 ITAs for Portugal, 1 ITA for Slovakia, 1 ITA for Slovenia, 49 ITAs for Spain, 7 ITAs for Sweden, 1 ITA for Switzerland, 2 ITAs for Taiwan, 238 ITAs for the United Kingdom. In 2022, Canada issued 108,317 ITAs under the IEC Program.
