Canadian Minister called all Canadians to combat racism and discrimination
On November 3, 2023, Social Development Minister of New Brunswick Jill Green voiced concern over rising hate in Canada at a meeting on anti-racism, representing Immigration Minister Arlene Dunn. The panel emphasized that racism, discrimination, and hate speech have no place in Canada. The Canadian Government’s responsibility is to foster inclusion, respect diversity, and protect everyone’s rights, particularly in challenging times. The Government pledged to ensure safety for all in Canada, affirming that diversity, inclusion, and human rights are core Canadian values. The minister stated that all forms of racism, discrimination, and hate, including antisemitism, Islamophobia, and any rhetoric against Jewish, Arab, Israeli, and Palestinian communities, were entirely unacceptable.

Manitoba invited skilled candidates and Ukrainian nationals
On November 2, 2023, Manitoba held a new invitation round in the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP). In round #198, the MPNP issued 204 LAAs in the Skilled Workers in Manitoba stream. The minimum score for the LAA in this category was 785 points, 156 points more than the previous draw. In the Skilled Workers Overseas stream, Manitoba issued 65 LAAs to candidates invited under the Strategic Recruitment Initiative. The lowest score in the SWO category was 708 points, 107 points more than in the previous draw. In addition, 131 invitations were issued in the International Education Stream. Manitoba has issued LAAs to 400 candidates, including 60 Express Entry candidates for this round. The next day, November 3, 2023, the Government of Manitoba held the 19th draw for Ukrainian candidates and invited 36 candidates under the MPNP. In total, the province invited 13,881 candidates in 2023, including 295 Ukrainian nationals.

Saskatchewan updated the Application Processing Times
On November 3, 2023, Saskatchewan updated the processing time of various streams of the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP). According to the new data, in the third quarter of 2023, in the International Skilled Worker category, the processing time in the Employment Offer stream was three weeks; in the Occupation In-Demand stream, it was 26 weeks; and in the Express Entry stream – 25 weeks. The processing time for the Tech Talent Pathway and the Hard-to-Fill Skills Pilot was two weeks. In the Saskatchewan Experience category, the processing time for the Existing Work Permit, International Students, and Truck Drivers streams was two weeks, while it took three weeks to process applications under the Health Professionals stream and one week for the Hospitality Workers stream. In the Entrepreneur and Farm category, the processing time for the Entrepreneur Applications was five weeks, while for the Entrepreneur Nominations, it was one week. The Job Approval Process, the authorization for an employer to hire a foreign worker through the SINP, took eight weeks for specified workers and nine weeks for not specified workers.

Nova Scotia invited healthcare professionals
On November 3, 2023, the Provincial Government of Nova Scotia invited candidates to participate in the Healthcare Professionals Immigration Pilot (HPIP). Candidates who want to continue this process should contact the Nova Scotia Department of Health and Wellness. Only those who receive a valid job offer from the Nova Scotia Health Authority may immigrate to Nova Scotia as a healthcare professional through the Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP) or the Nova Scotia Nominee Program (NSNP) Skilled Worker Stream. Applicants who participate in the Healthcare Professionals Immigration Pilot and receive a nomination under the Skilled Worker stream or an endorsement under the Atlantic Immigration Program are not granted 600 points under the Express Entry system. The Healthcare Professionals Immigration Pilot exclusively employs non-Express Entry immigration pathways.
