The Canadian Immigration Lawyers Association warned that the new immigration college will not be successful too
On November 24, 2021, the Canadian Immigration Lawyers Association (CILA) published an article criticizing the newly launched Immigration and Citizenship Consultants of Canada (CICC). CILA warned that CICC will also fail to protect the vulnerable public as the CSIC and ICCRC did. Since all consultants under the previous regime will be grand-parented into the CICC, all problems associated with the thousands of immigration consultants engaged in the actual practice of law today will continue. CILA also announced that the Association continues to advocate for ethical and competent representation.

The number of foreign tourists in Canada has increased 14 times
Since August 9, 2021, the Government of Canada has eased travel restrictions by allowing fully vaccinated travellers to enter the country for non-essential purposes, without having to go through quarantine upon arrival. In October, New data Statistics Canada released a report that indicated 263,400 non-residents arrived in the country in one month, 14 times more than the same period last year. 114,200 of those travellers came from the United States and 149,200 from different countries. Under the new rules, anyone entering the country must be fully vaccinated with Health Canada-approved vaccines and show proof of a negative PCR test result taken within 72 hours before their flight.

On November 24, 2021, Jean Boulet, Quebec’s labour minister, replaced Nadine Girault, Quebec’s former Minister of Immigration, Francisation and Integration (MIFI), who has been sidelined with health problems and advised by her physician to decrease her workload for the rest of her mandate. Boulet will also continue to his job as a labour minister. He stated that his job was related to immigration. He announced that there were no plans to review immigration quotas, and the levels have to be determined based on the capacity of the province to integrate immigrants into the society.
