Canadian trucking firms seek faster immigration application processing
Canada’s trucking industry commends Ottawa for assisting internationally trained truckers in immigrating to the country. However, they urge Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) to prioritize these much-needed workers further. The current labour shortage in the trucking industry poses a significant threat to Canada’s long-term economic recovery and stability. Thus, the trucking industry is calling on the Canadian government to expedite the processing of immigration applications and to remove barriers that prevent internationally trained truckers from entering the Canadian workforce.
