British Columbia invited 68 persons under the Tech Pilot

On June 1, 2021, British Columbia held this year’s eleventh draw in the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Tech Program (BC PNP Tech). In this draw, the province invited 68 candidates in four categories: Skills Immigration – Skilled Worker, Skills Immigration – International Graduate, Express Entry British Columbia – Skilled Worker, and Express Entry British Columbia – International Graduate. The lowest score in all categories traditionally was 80 points. In 2021, British Columbia invited 916 candidates to apply for a provincial nomination in the BCPNP Tech. In total, BCPNP issued 4,876 ITAs to date.

Canada introduced program delivery update for healthcare workers permanent residence pathway

On June 2, 2021, the Government of Canada introduced the COVID-19 program delivery update for the Healthcare workers permanent residence pathway. The Government updated the instructions to add information related to the Ministerial stay of removal pursuant to paragraph 50(e) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA). In addition, minor adjustments have been made to the guidelines for some aspects of application processing. These are preliminary review and triage; eligibility; admissibility; and making a final decision. This pathway is for eligible refugee claimants who provided direct patient health care during the COVID-19 pandemic. Applications will be accepted until August 31, 2021.

New Brunswick is seeking Data Scientists and Engineers

New Brunswick announced the new recruitment for IT specialists to be held in June 2021. This recruitment is intended to cover labour gaps of the New Brunswick Employers in the IT sector. Registration to the event is available for experienced Data Scientists and Data Engineers (NOC 2172 Database analysts and data administrators). Candidates meeting the requirements of New Brunswick have to register before June 15, 2021.
