OINP held two draws under the Human Capital Priorities Stream
On July 20, 2023, the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) conducted two new invitation draws under the Human Capital Priorities Stream. In the tech draw, the OINP issued 902 targeted Notifications of Interest (NOIs) to candidates with work experience in one of the in-demand occupations. In the healthcare draw, Ontario issued 159 targeted NOIs. Invited candidates’ CRS Express Entry score was between 458 and 462 points. In total, the OINP invited 1,061 candidates in the two Express Entry Human Capital Priorities Stream draws. In 2023, Ontario issued 22,007 invitations under all streams of OINP.

Manitoba invited candidates under the Skilled Workers Overseas stream
On July 20, 2023, Manitoba held a new invitation round in the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP). In round #186, the MPNP held a new draw under the Skilled Workers Overseas (SWO) stream and issued 595 LAAs to eligible candidates (340 to Express Entry candidates). The lowest score in the SWO category was 611 points, 163 points fewer than in the previous draw. In general, the MPNP invites candidates under three streams: Skilled workers in Manitoba, SWO, and the International Education Stream. In this round of invitations, Manitoba held an SWO-only draw. In 2023, MPNP invited 8,433 candidates, and 2,360 of them received invitations in the Express Entry.

Prince Edward Island held a new draw in July 2023
On July 20, 2023, Prince Edward Island conducted a new invitation round in the Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP). In this round of invitations, the province issued 97 invitations to apply to candidates under the Critical Worker Stream working for a PEI Employer and having the EOI score 50 points and more. PEI also invited nine candidates to the Business Work Permit Entrepreneurs stream. The lowest score for business candidates was 80 points, two points fewer than in the June draw. This year, PEI invited 1,639 candidates. According to the schedule, the next PEI PNP draw will occur on August 3, 2023.

BCPNP increased the Skills Immigration application fee
On July 20, 2023, the Government of British Columbia announced an increase in the BCPNP Skills Immigration application fee. The fee for Skills Immigration applications will increase by $325 to ensure high-quality customer service. The program has improved its services to attract and retain skilled workers through increased support for employers, clients, nominees, and community partners. The program also targets international recruitment in priority areas of labour shortage and improves program integrity through anti-fraud investigations. As of August 1, 2023, the new BCPNP Skills Immigration application fee will be $1,475. Recent changes to the BCPNP have improved access for applicants in areas of labour shortage and raised awareness of the province’s labour market needs. The number of BCPNP nominations will increase to 10,000 by 2025.
