Canada introduced a new update for temporary residents

On February 23, 2022, the Government of Canada introduced a new program delivery update for processing procedures for temporary resident applications. The Temporary Resident Program Delivery (TRPD) Division corrected the broken link in the instructions regarding the maintained status (previously called implied status) of temporary resident applications. Applicants, whose second application is submitted during their period of authorized stay in Canada, their status is maintained by the second application until a decision on the second application is finalized. The date and time of receipt of the application are important for determining if the status is maintained under subsection R183(5).
