Ottawa updated instructions for the Home Child Care Provider and Home Support Worker Pilots
On February 10, 2022, the Government of Canada updated the guidelines regarding the Home Child Care Provider and Home Support Worker Pilots. As of now, applications received under these Pilots will be assessed against the 2016 edition of the National Occupation Code (NOC) instead of the 2011 edition. According to the new requirements, all applicants will have to demonstrate that they meet all requirements specified in the 2016 edition of the NOC irrespective of the coding of their work permit.

Ontario introduced average application processing times in the OINP
On February 10, 2022, Ontario has updated the average processing time in the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP). As of now, the processing time in Ontario’s Master Graduates and Ph.D. Graduates Streams and Employer Job Offer: In-Demand Skills Stream was 30-60 days. The processing time for Ontario’s Express Entry French-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream, Express Entry Human Capital Priorities Stream, Express Entry Skilled Trades Stream, Employer Job Offer: Foreign Worker, and Employer Job Offer: International Student Stream was 60-90 days. The Expression of Interest (EOI) Assessment in the Entrepreneur Stream still requires less than 30 days, while the application processing depends on the complexity of the business nomination application. OINP nominated 496 candidates to apply for PR
On February 10, 2022, the province of Ontario released the next update on the issuance of nomination certificates under the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP). The Ministry of Labour, Training and Skills Development issued nominations to 496 foreign nationals, 283 nominations fewer than in the last update. In total, in 2022, Ontario issued 1,275 nominations. Last year, the province nominated 8,600 candidates to apply for permanent residence with Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). So far, the Federal government has not announced the annual quota allocation under the Provincial Nominee Program.

Manitoba invited 273 candidates in draw #136
On February 10, 2022, Manitoba held a new invitation round in the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP). In round #136, MPNP issued 202 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAA) in the Skilled Workers in Manitoba stream. The minimum score to get the LAA in this category was 615 points, 6 points more compared to the previous draw. In the Skilled Workers Overseas stream, Manitoba issued 31 LAAs. The lowest score in the SWO category was 705 points, 2 points more than in the previous round. In addition, Manitoba invited 40 candidates in the International Education Category. In total, Manitoba issued LAAs to 273 candidates, including 68 Express Entry candidates. MPNP has invited 1,031 candidates in 2022, and 234 of them received invitations in the Express Entry.

Manitoba nominated 272 candidates in January 2022
On February 10, 2022, the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) published new nomination issuance statistics. In January 2022, the province nominated 272 skilled workers and approved 3 business concepts. Manitoba also refused 5 skilled worker applications. MPNP invited 2,920 skilled workers, 2 business concepts and sent LAAs to 5 business candidates. In January, MPNP received 841 applications from skilled workers and 1 application from a business candidate. Currently, the province is assessing 688 applications, and the other 2,125 applications are pending assessment. Additionally, Manitoba nominated 19 Express Entry candidates.
