Manitoba invited 353 candidates in draw #154
On August 26, 2022, Manitoba held a new invitation round in the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP). In round #154, MPNP issued 259 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAA) in the Skilled Workers in Manitoba stream. The minimum score to get the LAA in this category was 619 points, 4 points fewer compared to the previous draw. In the Skilled Workers Overseas stream, Manitoba issued 58 LAAs. The lowest score in the SWO category was 708 points, 10 points fewer than in the previous round. In addition, Manitoba invited 36 candidates in the International Education Category. In total, Manitoba issued LAAs to 354 candidates, including 79 Express Entry candidates. MPNP has invited 4,519 candidates in 2022, and 869 of them received invitations in the Express Entry.

IRCC invited applicants to participate in surveys to evaluate clients’ experience
On August 26, 2022, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) announced that it has invited some applicants to participate in the client experience surveys. IRCC will assess the clients’ experience of completing the application process to better understand and improve IRCC’s client services. The invitation will be sent from IRCC.COMMDoNotReply-NePasRepondreCOMM.IRCC@cic.gc.ca and will not have ant attachments. Applicants are encouraged not to click on the survey invitations from any e-mail different from this one. Participation in the survey is voluntary and will be kept confidential.

Canada expanded the Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot
On August 26, 2022, Sean Fraser, Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) announced the expansion of the Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot (RNIP). The Government of Canada expanded the geographic boundaries of some participating communities to encompass more employers. North Bay (ON), Sudbury (ON), Timmins (ON), Thunder Bay (ON), Moose Jaw (SK), West Kootenay (BC), and Vernon (BC) are the expanded communities. IRCC also expanded the range of job offers available to candidates and reduced the number of settlement funds participants is required to have.

Canada invited 2,165 candidates under the International Experience Canada
Over the last week, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) held new draws in the pools of International Experience Canada (IEC). From August 22 to August 28, Canada invited 2,165 young foreigners to apply for an IEC open work permit. As of August 26, there are 22,222 candidates registered in the pool, waiting for the invitation. In this round, there were 341 ITAs for Australia, 8 ITAs for Austria, 36 ITAs for Belgium, 1 ITA for Costa Rica, 8 ITAs for Croatia, 37 ITAs for the Czech Republic, 12 ITAs for Denmark, 1 ITA for Estonia, 308 ITAs for France, 157 ITAs for Germany, 12 ITAs for Greece, 12 ITAs for Hong Kong, 231 ITAs for Ireland, 71 ITAs for Italy, 187 ITAs for Japan, 2 ITAs for Latvia, 3 ITAs for Lithuania, 1 ITA for Luxembourg, 18 ITAs for the Netherlands, 81 ITAs for New Zealand, 6 ITAs for Norway, 20 ITAs for Poland, 38 ITAs for Portugal, 5 ITAs for Slovakia, 1 ITA for Slovenia, 97 ITAs for Spain, 20 ITAs for Sweden, 5 ITAs for Taiwan, 443 ITAs for the United Kingdom. In 2022, Canada issued 107,196 ITAs under the IEC Program.
