Canada issued 3,000 ITAs in the Express Entry draw for CEC candidates
On August 19, 2021, the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) conducted a new Express Entry draw. In program-specific draw #202, Canada issued 3,000 Invitations to Apply for permanent residence in Canada in the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) Program. The lowest score was 403 points, 1 point less than in the previous program-specific draw. The tie-breaking rule for this round was August 1, 2021 at 13:25:22 UTC. In 2021, Canada already issued 105,779 invitations to apply in 32 draws of Express Entry.

Ottawa introduced a program delivery update for refugee claimants and persons under an unenforceable removal order
On August 19, 2021, the Government of Canada introduced new instructions for applicants with no other means of support and humanitarian reasons. According to the update, the Government modernized the page about work permits for refugee claimants and International Mobility Program. In addition, special guidance on fees, medical exams, and work permit duration for applicants with humanitarian reasons, especially destitute students and temporary resident permit holders have been added to the policy. Every year, Canada issues work permits under section 206 of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations to foreign nationals who are not able to support themselves without working.

Quebec invited 515 persons in the sixth round of Arrima in 2021
On August 19, 2021, the Quebec Ministry of Immigration (MIFI) published the results of the second invitation round in Quebec’s online system Arrima conducted in 2021. On August 12, 2021, MIFI invited 515 candidates to apply for a Quebec Selection Certificate under the Quebec Skilled Worker Program. Candidates, invited in this round, can submit an application for permanent selection in order to obtain a Quebec Selection Certificate (CSQ) within a period of 6 months. In total, Quebec invited 1,060 candidates through the Arrima in 2021.

Saskatchewan issued 496 ITAs in the new round of SINP
On August 19, 2021, Saskatchewan conducted a new round of invitations in the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP). This time, SINP issued 496 invitations to apply (ITAs) for the provincial nomination. In the Express Entry category, Saskatchewan issued 161 ITAs. The lowest score in this category was 71, 2 points fewer than in the last round. Another 335 invitations were issued to the Occupations In-Demand category candidates. The lowest score for this category was 70 points – 3 points less than in the last round. All invited candidates had Educational Credential Assessments. In this draw, Saskatchewan invited candidates in 61 different NOCs for the Occupations In-Demand category, 43 NOCs for the Express Entry category. In total, Saskatchewan invited 5,275 candidates in 2021, 2,265 under the Express Entry, and 2,982 under the Occupations In-Demand category.
