Canada introduced a program delivery update for Atlantic Immigration Program
On April 7, 2022, the Government of Canada published a new update for Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP). The Government updated instructions for procedures at the Centralized Intake Office for applications for Non-Express Entry applicants applying under AIP’s permanent resident (PR) Economic class program. In addition, Canada introduced new instructions for processing and assessing applications, admissibility, and examination before granting permanent residence. AIP came into force on January 1, 2022, and started accepting applications of skilled foreign workers and international graduates from Canadian institutions.

Manitoba invited 223 candidates in draw #142
On April 7, 2022, Manitoba held a new invitation round in the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP). In round #142, MPNP issued 156 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAA) in the Skilled Workers in Manitoba stream. The minimum score to get the LAA in this category was 739 points, 30 points fewer compared to the previous draw. In the Skilled Workers Overseas stream, Manitoba issued 33 LAAs. The lowest score in the SWO category was 683 points, 29 points fewer than in the previous round. In addition, Manitoba invited 34 candidates in the International Education Category. In total, Manitoba issued LAAs to 223 candidates, including 30 Express Entry candidates. MPNP has invited 1,930 candidates in 2022, and 406 of them received invitations in the Express Entry.

Saskatchewan published Application Processing Times for SINP for the first quarter of 2022
On April 7, 2022, Saskatchewan updated the processing time of various streams of the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP). According to the new data, in the first quarter of 2022, in the International Skilled Worker category, the processing time in the Employment Offer stream was 3 weeks, in the Occupation In-Demand stream – 43 weeks, and in the Express Entry stream – 42 weeks. In the Saskatchewan Experience category, the processing time in the Existing Work Permit stream was 2 weeks, in the International Students stream was 3 weeks, in the Health Professionals stream, Truck Drivers stream, and Hospitality Workers stream was 1 week. In the Entrepreneur and Farm category, the processing time for the Entrepreneur Nominations was 6 weeks. For the Entrepreneurs Applications and Farmers streams, the province has not provided any information regarding the processing times. The Job Approval Process, the authorization for an employer to hire a foreign worker through the SINP, took 8 weeks.

Manitoba nominated 470 candidates in March 2022
On April 7, 2022, the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) published new nomination issuance statistics. In March 2022, the province nominated 470 skilled workers and approved 1 business. Manitoba also refused 40 skilled worker applications. MPNP invited 398 skilled workers and 1 business concept. In February, MPNP received 450 applications from skilled workers and 1 application from a business candidate. Currently, the province is assessing 586 applications, and the other 2,384 applications are pending assessment. Additionally, Manitoba nominated 303 Express Entry candidates.
