The program operates in coordination with the Government of Canada or IRCC (Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada) and is designed to contribute significantly to the local economy. One of the reasons for the introduction of this program was to address the shortage of workers with the required skills and experience in New Brunswick. The program also provides employers with the flexibility to invite applicants with desired skills and experience from outside Canada.

    How to Apply for NBPNP:

To apply for the NBPNP, interested applicants need to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) to the program. The EOI should include the applicant’s Educational Credential Assessment result, work experience, and language test scores. The Express Entry New Brunswick Labor Market Stream is a relatively new stream, and applicants with the highest rank in this stream are more likely to receive an invitation.

    Overview of the Selection Criteria:

The NBPNP reviews Provincial Nominee Applications based on eligibility criteria and other selection factors. The program gives preference to applicants who have the ability to become economically strong and established in the province of New Brunswick.

Different Categories under the New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program:

Express Entry Labour Market Stream: This stream is designed to address the labor market and demographic needs of New Brunswick through the Federal Express Entry immigration selection system.

Skilled Worker Applicants with Family Support: This category assists applicants who are immigrating to a New Brunswick community where they have family support. Both the applicant and the supporting family member must meet the required criteria. This program aims to promote family values.

Skilled Worker Applicants with Employer Support: This category is for applicants who have a full-time job offer from an employer in New Brunswick. It encourages employers to hire candidates with urgently needed skills and experience in the province.

Business Applicants: This category is for applicants interested in living and running a business in the province of New Brunswick. Applicants must have a personal net worth of CAD$300,000 and must submit a business plan to the Canadian Government.

    Eligibility Criteria:

To be eligible to apply to the New Brunswick Express Entry Stream, you must first meet one of the three connections below:

The eligibility conditions for the Express Entry Labour Market Stream of the NBPNP are as follows:

Expression of Interest (EOI): Interested applicants must submit an EOI to the New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program. The program assesses the EOI based on the following criteria:

    a. Highest Score: Applicants with the highest score in the EOI ranking will have a better chance of receiving an invitation.

    b. Training and Experience in High Priority Sector: Evidence of training and experience in a high priority sector as determined by the province.

    c. Economic Establishment: Demonstrated ability to become economically established in the province.

    d. Contribution to Provincial Labor: Likelihood of positively contributing to the provincial labor market.

    e. Age, Language Proficiency, Education, and Work Experience: Factors such as age, language proficiency in English or French, level of education, and work experience will also be considered.

    f. Arranged Employment Offer: Whether the candidate has an arranged employment offer in an occupation that falls under the National Occupational Classification (NOC) skill level 0, A, or B, and adaptability.

Documentation: Applicants need to provide supporting documents as proof of their ability factors, such as language test scores and Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) results.

Invitation and Application Processing: Candidates with the highest scores will receive an invitation by email. Once selected, their applications will be processed within six months of receiving the complete applications, following the procedures of the Federal Government’s Express Entry Electronic Management System.

Each month, Immigration NB invites candidates by selecting from the pool of eligible EOIs and issuing ITAs to those selected.

Additional Criteria: In addition to the above, applicants must also fulfill the following criteria:

    a. Federal Skilled Worker Program Eligibility: Meet all eligibility criteria and selection factors for the Federal Skilled Worker Program, which includes obtaining at least 67 points out of 100.

    b. Age Requirement: Age must be between 22 and 55, inclusive.

    c. Commitment to New Brunswick: Applicants must sign a commitment to live and work in New Brunswick.
