Canada welcomed 30,000 new permanent residents in past two years, 2016 and 2017. And it would not be a surprise to see the number incereasing in 2018.
The number of new immigrants to Canada is going to increase as per the hint given by Canadaian Immigration Minister Mr. Ahmed Hussen in a recent interview.
On being asked about the number of new immigrants that will be welcomed in 2018, he said, “I don’t have exact numbers yet, but I can assure you it won’t drop. It’s a matter of finding the right mix.” Mr. Hussen emphasised that Canadian security at no cost is compromised, “We screen for criminality, human rights violations, terrorism, health. And the results speak for themselves: we have brought in 40,000 Syrians without compromising security.”
