Canada to bring more skilled refugees and displaced people to Canada

Ottawa published new instructions for International Experience Canada applications
As of January 9, 2023, foreign nationals must have their work permit issued at the port of entry (POE) for their participation to be counted under the International Experience Canada (IEC) program. If applicants fail to arrive in Canada before the POE letter of introduction expires, it does not count as participation. This policy is considered retroactive, and international citizens can reapply for an IEC work permit if they still meet all eligibility criteria. Up until now, POE letters of introduction were used to count IEC participation. The IEC program’s instructions have been amended to reflect the changes made. In addition, IEC will introduce the ICEX Vives program through the Young Professionals stream for Spain.
