IRCC issued 919 invitations in the new PNP-targeted Express Entry draw
On March 30, 2022, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) issued 919 Invitations to Apply (ITA) to candidates under the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) in the new PNP-targeted draw. In round #219, the cut-off score was 785 points, 31 points more compared to the previous PNP draw. The tie-breaking rule for this round was November 15, 2022 at 20:23:16 UTC. As of March 28, 2022, there are 197,881 profiles registered in the Express Entry pool, 1,189 more compared to the previous update. In 2022, Canada has issued 6,470 ITAs through Express Entry.

Ottawa clarified instructions for Atlantic Immigration Program
On March 30, 2022, the Government of Canada published updated instructions on how to add dependents to an existing Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP) permanent residence (PR) application. After applying for a PR under the AIP, if a principal applicant (PA) made a change in his/her family composition (got married, became a common-law partner, or had or adopted a child), he or she has to update the AIP PR application accordingly. The applicant must send his/her add-on request through IRCC’s webform and attach the required supporting documents.

The Canadian Government offers settlement support to Ukrainian nationals arriving in Canada
On March 30, 2022, the Government of Canada expanded support for Ukrainian nationals to help them settle in their new communities. Settlement Program services, which are usually available only to permanent residents have been extended until March 31, 2023, and are now eligible for Ukrainians coming to Canada under the Canada-Ukraine authorization for emergency travel (CUAET). These services will be delivered through more than 550 agencies across Canada and provide Ukrainian nationals with key services such as language training, information about life in Canada, student enrollment, access to the labour market, and other settlement supports.

Ontario invited candidates under two Employer Job Offer Streams
On March 30, 2022, the Government of Ontario held new draws in the Employer Job Offer: Foreign Worker Stream (EJO FW) and In-Demand Skills Stream (EJO IDS) of the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP). The province issued 155 invitations to apply (ITAs) to the eligible candidates through the EJO FW Stream with a minimum score of 23. Under the EJO IDS, the province invited 65 candidates with a minimum score of 21. In total, OINP issued invitations to 8,397 candidates in 2022.

Ukrainian nationals arriving in Canada
Canadian cities started welcoming Ukrainian nationals arriving in Canada. According to the Government of Canada, between January 1 and March 27, 2022, 3,483 Ukrainians arrived in Canada by land, and an additional 8,344 arrived by air. Between March 17 and March 28, 2022, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada has received 80,613 applications under the Canada-Ukraine authorization for emergency travel (CUAET). The applications of 9,647 Ukrainian nationals and their family members have been approved so far. More Ukrainians are expected to apply and come to Canada under this special measure.

OINP issued 398 invitations through the Masters Graduate Stream
On March 30, 2022, the Government of Ontario held a new draw in the Masters Graduate Stream of the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP). The province has issued 398 invitations to apply (ITAs) under this stream, with a minimum score of 39 points, 2 points fewer than it was in the previous draw held on March 1, 2022. In 2022, Ontario has already invited 636 candidates under this stream. In total, the OINP invited 8,397 candidates under all streams in 2022.
