Ottawa introduced a new program delivery update for Ukrainian nationals
On March 22, 2022, the Government of Canada introduced program delivery instructions (PDIs) to provide operational instructions related to temporary measures to support persons directly affected by the situation in Ukraine. According to the special measures, Canada will urgently process travel documents for Canadians, permanent residents, and their immediate family members; prioritize the processing of citizenship grants for adoptions, and permanent and temporary residence applications, as well as the renewal of work and study permits applications from Ukrainians currently in Canada.

Quebec issued invitations in the fifth Arrima draw of 2022
On March 22, 2022, the Quebec Ministry of Immigration (MIFI) published the results of the 31st invitation round in Quebec’s online system Arrima. On March 10, 2022, MIFI invited 506 candidates to apply for a Quebec Selection Certificate under the Quebec Skilled Worker Program. Candidates invited in this round had a minimum score of 577 or had a valid job offer outside the territory of the Montreal Metropolitan Community. In 2022, MIFI has issued 2,169 invitations. Since the launch of Arrima in July 2019, the government of Quebec invited 8,441 foreign nationals in 31 draws to apply for immigration to Quebec.

Saskatchewan’s Entrepreneur program introduced a new schedule for 2022
On March 22, 2022, Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) Entrepreneur program has updated the Expression of Interest (EOI) pool selection schedule for 2022. The province will conduct the EOI pool selections on May 5, 2022, July 7, 2022, September 1, 2022, and November 3, 2022. According to the new update, candidates cannot change their business plans after applying to the program. They also cannot change their Business Performance Agreement after the SINP approval. In 2022, Saskatchewan has already issued 109 invitations through the Entrepreneur program.

British Columbia issued Skilled Immigration invitations and Tech candidates in the BCPNP draws
On March 22, 2022, British Columbia issued new invitations in the Skilled Worker – International Graduate categories of the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BCPNP). In the Childcare-targeted draw for early childhood educators (NOC 4214), the province invited 47 candidates. In the Healthcare-targeted draw for entry-level and semi-skilled workers, BC invited 11 candidates. The lowest score of those candidates was 85 points. In addition, the province issued less than 5 invitations for healthcare assistants (NOC 3413) in the entry-level and semi-skilled category, with a minimum score of 63 points. In 2022, in total, British Columbia invited 2,057 candidates.

British Columbia invited 132 candidates under the new the BCPNP Tech draw
On March 22, 2022, British Columbia held a new draw in the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Tech Program (BC PNP Tech). In this draw, the province invited 132 candidates in four categories: Skills Immigration – Skilled Worker, Skills Immigration – International Graduate, Express Entry British Columbia – Skilled Worker, and Express Entry British Columbia – International Graduate. The lowest score for these categories was 77 points. In 2022, in total, British Columbia invited 2,057 candidates, including 850 applicants under the BCPNP Tech.
