How the Entry/Exit program can impact immigrants
The Entry/Exit Program allows Canadian border services to collect travellers’ information and share this accurate and objective data with Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) to evaluate and process immigration applications. The Program will allow the Government to verify residency requirements to support citizenship applications or permanent resident cards or check if a temporary residence applicant overstayed in Canada before. The program also helps to check if an applicant’s family members reside in Canada, or support investigations of possible fraud.

March 2022 will be the Fraud Prevention Month
The Government of Canada protects Canadians and newcomers from falling victim to fraud and provides clear instructions to prevent possible immigration fraud. According to the guideline, newcomers and prospective immigrants should make sure that they are not required to hire an immigration representative to make an application. If applicants want to receive help from a consultant, they should ensure that they work with licensed Citizenship Consultants. In addition, the Government warned that Government employees never contact candidates or ask for payment to avoid arrest or deportation.
