Alberta invited 100 candidates and updated the AINP inventory
On December 7, 2021, Alberta published the update of the inventory of the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP). Currently, there are around 400 Alberta Opportunity Stream applications and 825 Expressions of Interest in the Alberta Express Entry pool. In addition, on November 24, 2021, Alberta held a new round in the Alberta Express Entry Stream and issued 100 Notifications of Interest (NOI). The lowest score in this round was 350 points, 7 points more than it was in the previous draw. In 2021, AINP already invited 6,458 Express Entry candidates to apply for a provincial nomination in the Alberta Express Entry.

Some companies that do not have a good track record are using the government of Ontario’s in-demand stream for truck drivers. Apparently, they reduce rates, but under the table, there is money exchange to nominate foreign drivers. Until the community raises its voice on this issue and the government introduces strict laws, this issue will not be resolved.

Alarm in Canada over the new Omicron variant
The concern is growing in Canada over the new strain of COVID-19, first discovered in South Africa and detected in several European countries. Man threatened to commit suicide seeking Canadian citizenship
Getting Canadian citizenship is the main goal of immigrants in Canada. A Sri Lankan man was arrested in front of an IRCC Office when he threatened to commit suicide. He said that he is being denied his Canadian citizenship for over one year, and he has been under detention on the pretext of mental illness. He demanded to know the reason for his detention. He had flammable liquid in a container and tried to commit suicide. The police took him into custody.
