Canada stops the International Experience Canada Program for 2021
On November 12, 2021, the Government of Canada will hold the last invitation round for the 2021 International Experience Canada (IEC) Program in all remaining pools. To this date, Canada issued 30,372 ITAs under the IEC in 2021. The program allows young Canadians aged 18 to 35 to live and work in countries participating in the program, also allowing young people from those countries to live and work in Canada. Those who still want to be considered for the 2021 season must submit their profiles before 9:00 am Eastern Standard Time on November 12, 2021.

Health issues and PGP applications
According to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), in the parents’ and grandparents’ sponsorship applications, applicants’ health condition is a critical factor in determining admissibility. If an applicant’s health condition causes an excessive demand on Canada’s health or social services, the probability of these applications’ rejection increases. Foreign nationals coming to Canada for more than six months must submit an immigration medical exam, done by a designated panel physician. This is so IRCC can determine whether the foreign national is medically admissible.

The number of Croatians and Poles in Canada returning to their homelands increased
When the Canadian government announced travel restrictions allowing only fully vaccinated people to travel, the Croatian and Polish communities in Canada expressed their dissatisfaction that caused a noticeable increase in the number of people buying one-way tickets to their homelands. Those leaving are mainly families with children who are dissatisfied with or oppose the restrictions. Among the departed are also those who expected to be fired or were fired from their jobs because of their unvaccinated status. Many Croatian and Polish unvaccinated or partially vaccinated international students are also leaving Canada since they are unable to go to colleges and universities and are studying now online from Croatia or Poland.

Is Express Entry pausing invitations to Canadian Experience Class applicants?
Recently, IRCC has reduced the frequency and scale of Express Entry invitations for the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) candidates. The last CEC-specific round took place on September 14, 2021. Since then, IRCC held 5 PNP-specific rounds. As of now, the government has invited 112,040 Express Entry candidates in Express Entry and 99,653 of them were invited under the CEC. Since the beginning of 2021, there were no invitations for the Federal Skilled Worker and Federal Skilled Trades candidates. The community of immigration experts hopes the all-program draws may renew in the new year.
