Saskatchewan invited 528 candidates in the new round of SINP

On September 8, 2021, Saskatchewan conducted a new round of invitations in the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP). This time, SINP issued 528 invitations to apply (ITAs) for the provincial nomination. In the Express Entry category, Saskatchewan issued 316 ITAs. The lowest score in this category was 66, 5 points fewer than in the last round. In addition, 212 invitations were issued to the Occupations In-Demand category candidates. The lowest score for this category was 66 points – 4 points less than in the last round. All invited candidates had Educational Credential Assessments. In this draw, Saskatchewan invited candidates in 16 different NOCs for both categories. In total, Saskatchewan invited 5,844 candidates in 2021, including 2,581 under the Express Entry, and 3,194 under the Occupations In-Demand category.

Ottawa recommends to re-apply for a visitor visa for urgent applications that have been submitted before September 7, 2021

The Government of Canada recommends submitting a new application via the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) Portal if the travel to Canada is urgent and the application has been submitted before September 7, 2021. IRCC provided the following reasons as applicable: to unite with an immediate or extended family member who is a Canadian citizen, person registered under Canada’s Indian Act or permanent resident of Canada; to visit on business; to attend a funeral or to be present during the final moments of the life of a loved one; to provide care to a critically ill person; to join a vessel as a marine crew member; to assume a posting as a diplomat or to travel as an accompanying immediate family member of a diplomat, and to handle the affairs of a victim of Ukraine International Airlines Flight PS752. Applicants must be sure to include the latest information and, previous application number. Applicants’ previous visitor visa applications will be withdrawn and a refund will not be provided.

Canada cancelled direct flights from Morocco for 30 days

In response to the growing number of COVID-19 cases, the Government of Canada suspended all direct flights from Morocco from August 29, 2021, to September 29, 2021. Passengers, who will travel from Morocco to Canada via a third country, must be able to demonstrate a pre-departure negative COVID-19 molecular test result from their point of departure before they travel to Canada. Those who had tested positive for COVID-19 before will have to provide proof of a positive COVID-19 molecular test, instead of a negative COVID-19 molecular test.

Quebec invited 517 candidates in the new Arrima draw

On September 8, 2021, the Quebec Ministry of Immigration (MIFI) published the results of the 22nd invitation round in Quebec’s online system Arrima. On September 2, 2021, MIFI invited 517 candidates to apply for a Quebec Selection Certificate under the Quebec Skilled Worker Program. Candidates, invited in this round, can submit an application for permanent selection in order to obtain a Quebec Selection Certificate (CSQ) within a period of 6 months. In total, Quebec invited 2,664 persons through the Arrima in 2021. Since the launch of Arrima in July 2019, the government of Quebec invited 5,354 foreign nationals in 22 draws to apply for immigration to Quebec.
