International air travel dropped down following the new restrictions

The new national protocols of the COVID-19 testing and quarantine rules for international air travellers convinced travellers to stay at home in recent weeks. According to data from the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA), in the second half of January, international arrivals dropped to 106,000 people. While, in the first two weeks of February, the number of new arrivals further reduced to 94,000 people. Immigration experts criticize the mandatory hotel quarantine as it is going against the immigration policy of the federal government to welcome more newcomers.
